Young Liars was the first major release by the New York City indie-rock band TV on the Radio. Released in 2003 on Touch & Go Records, the EP helped establish the band's distinctive blending of electronica, doo wop, post-rock, and avant-garde styles. The release also featured the single "Staring at the Sun" which would later be reissued in their full-length album Desperate Youth, Blood Thirsty Babes. It also contains a doo-wop version of "Mr. Grieves", which was originally a rock song by the Pixies from the album Doolittle.

It's always a treat to find yourself cofronted with a collection of Morr Music tracks. Having come up with such eminently entertaining selections as Blue Skied An' Clear and the awesome Putting The Morr Back Into Morrissey, you'd do well to pay close attention to Music For Hairy Scary Monsters.

The compilation gets underway with a double whammy of Benni Hemm Hemm, first of all the magnificent collaboration with Swedish crooner Jens Lekman, 'Aldrei', and then swiftly onto the comparably lovely 'Skvavars (Rainy Version)'. Indietronicists The Go-Find unleash another cracking pair: the beautiful synth tone ballad 'Ice Bear' and the more rocking Death Cab stylings of 'Perfume V'. Representing the old guard, Morr lynchpins Isan are present and correct dipping into the archive for the Mùm remix 'Re-Spring My Reverse'. Next up comes Seabear, whose 'I Sing I Swim and 'Lost Watch' give some indication of why their album The Ghost That Carried Us Away is such a treat. Finally, the disc draws to a close with two slices of Tarwater, the first, 'Dia', a cinematic instrumental piece populated by acoustic guitar arpeggios, warm synth strings and glistening xylophone. 'The Place' is back into more conventional Tarwater territory, with Ronald Lippok's unmistakable voice looming over a fine web of electronics and tremolo guitars. Lovely.

Shallow Believer is The Used's first EP. It was released on February 19, 2008 on all digital music stores. The EP is a compilation of b-sides from their first 3 studio albums. Seven of the songs have been previously released as bonus tracks on different album versions. The artwork was done by Bert McCracken and Alex Pardee.
